Tourists in Guizhou experienced the terrible lightening weat
A lightening struck 34 tourists, seriously injuring 12, on top of a mountain in southwest China's Guizhou Province, local officials said Sunday.
However, they are no longer facing life-threatening dangers after treatment, added the officials.
Amid a downpour, the lightening hit tourists marveling top views on the Fanjing Mountain near noon on Saturday. The injured were rushed down the 2,400-meter high mountain to hospitals for treatment, officials said.
Eye-witness accounts posted on the Internet said there was a huge explosion caused by the lightening. The authorities said they had began investigating the case to learn how it had caused such a heavy casualty.
