Casual Notes in Weekend

Time flys. It comes to end of December 2009 and the new year 2010 will comes. Chinese New Year is more and more closly.

Comparing with other traditional Chinese festivals, the Chinese New Year absolute is the most elaborate, colorful, and important festival. This was a time for the Chinese to congratulate each other and themselves on having passed through another year, a time to finish out the old, and to welcome in the new year. Common expressions heard at this time are: GuoNian to have made it through the old year, and BaiNian to congratulate the new year. And how much do you know about Chinese New Year ? Let me tell you something about that:

Chinese New Year is the most important of the Chinese holidays, and is a time of feasting with the family, celebration, fireworks,  and gift-giving. It is a 15-day holiday, beginning on the first day of a new moon and ending with the full moon on the day of the Lantern Festival.

The Chinese calendar is based on the lunar year, so the date of Chinese New Year changes every year. The Chinese calendar follows a 12-year pattern with each year named after an animal. There are various stories which explain this. The simplest is that Buddha (or the Jade Emperor) invited all of the animals to join him for a New Year celebration, but only 12 animals turned up. To reward the animals that did come, Buddha named a year after each of them in the order that they arrived, starting with the Rat, followed by the Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat (or Sheep), Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. (Find another version of the story to print, below)

Depending on the year you are born, you are believed to have the various character traits of that year's animal.

2010 is the tiger year which is also my own Chinese zodiac year. Do I look like a female tigerO(∩_∩) O(*^__^*)

Well, let’s over this topic and enjoy some beautiful pictures which I took on the Christmas Day 2009. All of the beautiful scenery are very close to our company-Guilin CITS.

There is the twinkling Christmas tree in the lobby of our company.

Our company is locates in Binjiang Road. Binjiang Road is very clean and quite and fresh. It is an enjoyment that in the morning, you are nothing to do but just walk around the street. Li River is on your left hand and the Elephant Truck Hill is in front of your eyes. You will see these kind of green trees every where in winter’s Guilin
